In 2013, I first wrote this holiday song. But I updated it today by changing the chorus and also made a new recording. Enjoy both!
I’m wishing you a happy holiday
I’m wishing you some light upon your way
I’m wishing you some love in all you say
And a very merry new year
They say it’s the season for tinsel and holly
They say it’s the season to ever be jolly
But sometimes I know
That it’s hard to find a place to go
But you’re never too young or too old
To be welcomed inside from the cold
So I’m hoping you’ll look to the light
Where love has opened doors in the night
I say it’s the season for giving out cheer
To those we call “strange” and those we call “dear”
But sometimes I see
That it’s hard to feel that free
But you’re never too young or too old
To open a door to the cold
So I’m hoping you’ll lighten your heart
And find a way to do your part
Janna – I found my way over here from a comment you left on my page. Your music is lovely and inspiring. – Sally
Hi, SALLY! I hadn’t been up on my blog for a while (I’m working very hard towards licensing at my new career of expressive therapist with very little time spent on my blog these days), but I just posted something new. Thanks for correcting me. Obviously, I must have been rather tired when I made that comment! I’ll continue to check out your blog. I saw DHC a few months ago … I had the honor of having her duet with me vocally at the show when she strolled through the audience! Anyway, I liked reading what you had to say about looping. I want to get a vocal looping machine so I can sing harmony with myself! Please take a listen to “Waltz of the Dove”. Best, Janna
Hi, Jana! How exciting to duet with DHC. That sounds so cool! I just saw her this last week at the International Harp Festival and learned a ton from her. I’m new to looping but I’m having a blast with it. It really frees me up and lets me add lots of voices to my arrangements. I enjoyed listening to your “Waltz of the Dove.” I love the contrast of that delicate sound of your harp with your vocals. Thanks for sharing and thank you for following me. – Sally
